    This third volume dedicated to Joseph-Hector Fiocco completes the portrait of a major composer in 18th-century Brussels musical life. His music captivates with its expressive richness, its melodic sweep, and the remarkable synthesis it achieves between French and Italian traditions. Heir to a cultural environment where Lully and Italian opera coexisted, Fiocco developed a personal language imbued with elegance, light, and sensuality. The works gathered here illustrate the importance of the central role of the voice in his writing, supported by refined and nuanced harmony. This program brings together six sacred motets for various forces, ranging from four to six voices, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble typical of their period. Dominated by Marian devotion, this selection highlights the inventiveness and mastery of a composer whose catalogue has been largely lost. A valuable contribution to the rediscovery of an exceptional part of Belgium's musical heritage.
