Description
With the album ..for:, the composer and cellist Michael Denhoff has once again put together a programme that presents pre- dominantly newer works for the campanula (a cello-like instrument with 16 resonant strings) in a richly evocative way. In addition to three of his own recent original works for campanula (+ harp / + accompaniment), the programme includes works by composers with whom Denhoff has special personal friendships. Musical gifts (dedications, tributes) and memories (in memoriams) run through this album like a common thread. Johann Sebastian Bach's Sarabande from the D minor Suite forms the 'secret' centre of the entire programme. This music is intended for open, curious and sensitive ears. Its pro-speakers here are two multi-stringed instruments: the cam- panula and the harp (played by Ute Blaumer).
