Description
Luise Adolpha Le Beau was a celebrated pianist who scored successes with compositions of her own, prevailing against all the feelings of resentment working against women composers during the middle of the nineteenth century.
The three young musicians Bartek Niziol, Denis Severin, and Tatiana Korsunskaya have dedicated themselves to the chamber music of this composer who is practically forgotten today.
Piano lessons from Clara Schumann, instruction in composition from Josef Rheinberger, correspondence with Hans von Bülow - Le Beau knew everybody who was somebody. She met Franz Liszt in Weimar and made the
acquaintance of Johannes Brahms and Eduard Hanslick without taking sides in the conflict between the New Germans and the conservative party. Rheinberger heard her violin sonata and accepted her as a private pupil.
