    Dick Sudhalter was a first-rate trumpet and cornet player, critic, scholar and biographer who died in September 2008, aged 69 years old. This new release on Challenge contains previously unissued material and is a nostalgic summation of his numerous musical alliances between 1967 and 2001.

    Sudhalter's musical career flourished in the 1980's, winning Grammy Awards for his annotations as well as producing and playing on many albums at that time and during the following decade. The album features Dick Sudhalter trumpet and cornet with: The Anglo American Alliance, The New Paul Whiteman Orchestra, The Sioux City 7, Eva Taylor, Barbara Lea, Lou Lanza (vocals), Bill Rank (trombone), Keith Ingham, Mick Pyne (piano), Dave Green (bass) and others.
