Description
GRAVE's "Dominion VIII" and "Burial Ground" were originally released back in 2008 respectively 2010 via Regain Records and have been out of print particularly on vinyl for quite a while. Now, Century Media Records have teamed up with the legendary Swedish death metal act's mastermind Ola Lindgren (vocals, guitars), who has remastered both records to astonishing results. Especially, "Dominion VIII" now shines with an increased amount of precision and sheer brutality. Both albums feature artwork by longtime collaborator Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Arch Enemy), with "Dominion VIII" being re-painted in late 2018 to make it fit better with the group's recent releases. Both albums are available on 180 gram vinyl (mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel / Temple Of Disharmony), as strictly limited, hand-numbered digipak and on all digital platforms! From classicdebut full-length, Into the Grave, to 2012's celebrated Endless Procession of Souls and most recent studio opus Out Of Respect For The Dead, the Gotlanders imprint on death metal has been legendary. They've influenced and informed hundreds, if not thousands of longhairs and axe-slayers to take on the most brutal form of music known to mankind. "It's kind of weird when younger bands tell me that we influenced them," frontman Ola Lindgren croaks. "But, in another way, I have my own idols and favorite bands that made me want to start playing music when I grew up. So, in one way, I can relate to it."Growing up in the island town of Visby, Lindgren should've had sufficient safe harbor from death metal's malignant reach. But he succumbed willfully, just as his peers some 5 hours away (by boat) in Stockholm had. Autopsy, Repulsion, Morbid Angel, NapalmDeath, and others polluted his young and very impressionable mind and
