Description
This is an album celebrating 100 years of the great Argentine composer of the tango, Astor Piazzolla, featuring wonderful performances by Bandoneon player Juanjo Mosalini and four world premiere recordings.
Composer, arranger, and Bandoneon performer Juanjo Mosalini was born in 1972 in Buenos Aires. He has been a recognized master of the Bandoneon for over 30 years.
"The disc is obviously a labor of love. Mosalini is the perfect soloist, and Gisèle Ben-Dor's leadership is unsurpassed, especially in the articulation of the emotional shading. The orchestra, especially the string soloists, play as if they were in Buenos Aires....Those interested in exploring the tango might as well start at the top, with this disc." - MusicWeb International
