Description
This is a partnership of two pianists (Barron and Harris) recorded live at the Riverside Park Arts Festival, NYC, in 1991, accompanied by Ray Drummond (bass) and Ben Riley (drums).
Although Barron is Harris' junior by some 13 years he grew up in an era when bop and hard bop were still the dominant contemporary styles, so his roots too are in the sounds of Bird, Bud and Tadd.
Here are a bunch of standards that were played by all the modernists in the 1940s and '50s. -
