The sessions are influenced by Ervin's time with Mingus' Jazz Workshop, and indeed Mingus is quoted extensively in the album's liner notes with singular praise for the saxophonist. This brand new reissue of the 1961 album is available on CD and LP, and has been remastered from the original Candid Records master tapes by Bernie Grundman.Description
