Description
Houston-based Joe Hughes (1938-2003) was not as well known as his peers Albert Collins and Johnny Copeland but he was a solid electric bluesman with a warm voice and a concise, stinging guitar style.
Active in the 50's and 60's he then suffered a dry spell before coming back into the limelight with some strong albums and international tours during the last 15 years of his life. This concert was recorded in Groningen, The Netherlands, in 1988, just as he was being 'rediscovered'.
Joe Hughes (vocals, guitar), Teddy Reynolds (piano), Michael Johnson (guitar), George Brown (bass), Warren Grant (drums).
