Shimmer (Neon Magenta LP)

Description

Shimmer represents one of the overlooked high points -- and most emotionally intense moments -- in the discography of Sadness, the acclaimed solo project founded by American prolific multi-instrumentalist Damian Ojeda.

The album fuses the fury of post-black metal with enveloping shoegaze textures, dreamy melodies, and atmospheres, along with elements inspired by early emo/screamo and post-rock. The result is a thickly atmospheric, melancholic and somehow sweet work, capable of resonating with both the post-black metal scene and fans of post-rock, indie, and shoegaze.

Although composed of only two lengthy tracks, Shimmer is an essential addition to any collection focused on contemporary blackgaze and underground atmospheric music. A perfect synthesis of the best of Sadness' style developed throughout these 12 years of activity. CD in six panel digipack

For fans of: Deafheaven, Alcest, Heretoir, Amesoeurs, Sylvaine, Holy Fawn
