    The Beasts of No Nation Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features new music by award-winning composer and producer Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild).

    Romer approached the score through the perspective of Agu, the child soldier, at the center of the film, and created a contained musical world that oscillates between themes of innocence, confusion, and terror.

    The non-traditional ambient musical world of the film uses dream-like '70s synth, manipulated sounds of submarine sonar, and the playing of wine glass rims incorporated with bowed acoustic guitar, mellotron organ, and trombone. All of the percussion for the film was played on buckets or by beating string instruments with sticks.

    Romer stated, "The film was an incredible project to be a part of. I had the opportunity to create sounds unlike anything I'd ever used before, and put score behind emotions that I'd never had in front of me."


    Netflix's Beasts of No Nation starring Golden Globe winner Idris Elba and newcomer Abraham Attah was released worldwide on Netflix and in Landmark Theaters across the US on October 16th 2015. The film has garnered stellar reviews after several high profile appearances at Venice, Toronto, London and Seattle Film festivals.
