Description
Some of Britain's top original modern jazzers in a blasting jam session from the mid 1950's.
Mostly up-tempo blues, great soloing from Ronnie Scott and Harry Klein (saxes), solid rhythm section in Terry Shannon (piano) and Tony Crombie (drums), plus guesting on two numbers the marvellous Tubby Hayes on tenor sax. The Flamingo has become known all over the world as Britain's leading modernist club. It was a "must" for every visiting musician or fan from overseas. Just about every important American artist who has passed through town has looked in to listen, and in some instances, to play or sing.
