Description
Few composers are as well-known and at the same time as infamous as Carl Czerny (1791-1857), whose etudes were once used almost excessively by some piano teachers to train finger technique.
Of course, these make up only one tenth of his oeuvre, which comprises over 2000 works.
The largest part of his oeuvre can be counted among the arrangements. The Quatuors Concertants Op.230 and Op.816 for four pianos with eight hands also belong to this genre, but because of their instrumentation they do not belong to the usual arrangements.
