Second album by the Portuguese electronica, folk and world duo Bandua. Bandua combine centuries-old traditional music from the Portuguese region of Beira Baixa with modern electronic elements, reinterpreting it through a blend of electronica, folk and worldbeat. The Portuguese-Brazilian musician, sound researcher and versatile producer Bernardo D'Addario (aka Tempura) and Portuguese singer and multi-instrumentalist Edgar Valente have been performing together as Bandua since 2018. The project is named after a deity from Celtic-Lusitanian mythology. They are likely the only act that abstracts and reimagines traditional music from Beira Baixa using contemporary production techniques. The Beira Baixa region is shaped by pagan and Moorish influences and has a deeply rooted, historically rich folk music tradition. Both artists originate from this region and view their work as a tribute to their homeland, whose sonic heritage they aim to carry into the present day. The eight layered, spiritual, and both rhythmic and atmospheric tracks possess a distinctly original and unique character.
