Description
A man of adventure, KEVIN REVEYRAND offers his imagination an unexpected and rarely visited playground. For his fifth album, he combines the multifaceted sound of his bass guitar with a set of instruments that also evolve in the low frequencies: tuba, cello, and baritone saxophone. The challenge is considerable, and one might have feared a sound environment bogged down in low frequencies; on the contrary, we discover a world of harmony and finesse that owes its cohesion to the sharp pen of a true composer. Thus, CELINE BONACINA's baritone saxophone, THOMAS LELEU's tuba, and ISABELLE SAJOT's cello join in. The bassist has divided the roles of his partners as follows: each duo performs three tracks, one of which is enriched by a string quartet arranged by Khalil Chahine, and another augmented by percussionist Stephane Edouard. Kevin Reveyrand continues, in parallel with a brilliant career as a sideman alongside Christopher Cross and Bill Labounty, a career as a free, inspired, and exciting composer who ignores all stylistic boundaries.
