Description
More than eighty years ago in southwestern Virginia, Carter and Ralph Stanley (The Stanley Brothers) - forged a sound that became a cornerstone of bluegrass and old-time music yet they remain far less known outside the genre than their influence warrants. Where the Soul Never Dies sets out to change that. Producers Alison Brown and Garry West assembled an eclectic cast spanning bluegrass and Americana, pairing the genre's next generation with roots voices who grew up on these songs. Standout contributors include Billy Strings, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Sierra Ferrell, Jamey Johnson, Steve Martin, and Ralph Stanley II, among others.
The album arrives October 16th two days before The Stanley Brothers' induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Available on on bluegrass blue swirl vinyl and digipak CD editions.
