Toronto-born and New York-based saxophonist/composer Andrew Rathbun returns to the studio to further explore his musical concept of improvisation leading into written music. In 2006 he recorded the first 'Shadow Forms' album with his core group - Scott Lee on bass and Jeff Hirshfield on drums. Ken Dryden of All About Jazz wrote of 'Shadow Forms', "This outstanding release remains fresh with each hearing, as new facets of these performances become apparent to the listener."
