    The Center for Texas Music History is the only comprehensive, university-based program devoted to the preservation and study of the music history of major ethnic groups throughout Texas. Housed in the History Department of the Texas State University-San Marcos, the CTMH has developed a unique and exciting program to better understand how Texas music reflects the rich history and tremendous cultural diversity of the Southwest. Some of the activities include The Best of Traveling Texas CD, Austin City Limits, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Texas Music History "Unplugged", a public lecture/concert series featuring prominent Texas musicians performing and discussing how Texas music reflects the history and culture of the Southwest. These are only a few of the exciting projects the CTMH has developed.
