Description
Beloved Chicago bluesman Eddy 'The Chief' Clearwater is an acknowledged master of the West Side school of blues that spawned Magic Sam, Otis Rush and Luther Allison. He is known worldwide as a charismatic, consummate blues showman. Between his full Indian head dress, slashing, left-handed guitar work, deft mix of blues 'n' roots styles and boundless energy, he's been the crowd-pleasing life of the party at gigs all over the globe.
This new album is a typically energetic mix of edgy West Side blues and fiery old school rock. The record gets a contemporary spark from producer Ronnie Baker Brooks (son of Chicago blues icon Lonnie Brooks), who also lays down some sparkling guitar work. Featured guests include Lonnie Brooks and fellow Chicago blues and soul legends Jimmy Johnson and Otis Clay. The star of the disc is definitely Eddy, though, as his stinging guitar playing and rough-hewn vocals lead the way.
