Description
A light in the darkness, a star called Lindigo: Oye maloya. A true ode to life! Lindigo's magic works. His music stretches the boundaries of the imagination. Lindigo cultivates simplicity, always with sincerity. Boldness feeds the lyrics of bewitching texts until the energy pushes the enchantment. Power! The power of a band that makes heaven and earth communicate. Lindigo's music rises like a hymn to resilience, from the Reunion cane fields of Paniandy, where it all began. Without pretense, always in a fabulous momentum, poignant, gripping, vibrant!
Oye Maloya is the eighth "family" album. The band, led by Olivier Araste, now features the couple's children, Joanes and Xavier, whom he forms in real life with Lauriane Marceline.
Based at Paniandy in the farming commune of Bras Panon in the east of Reunion. In addition to Lauriane and Olivier, Lindigo has always relied on members of the family, Olivier's brother Dado, gradually reinforced by nephews, nieces, cousins and a few fellow travelers such as Pascal and Fixi, joined on this album by Gino Bombrini, whom they met in 2015 (during a Skip&Die creation).
Lindigo is more than just a group, it represents a way of looking at life outside the norms of individualism, of putting the collective before the individual, of pulling together to move forward, and of remaining faithful to the love, strength, and courage of our ancestors.
