Description
A tribute to Alessandro Scarlatti, excellent exponent of the Italian Baroque, thanks to a new rendition of his Magnificat a 5, with solos alternating with chorus. Alongside this masterpiece, the intense Salve Regina and a tribute to his son Domenico with his Te Deum. With the addition of the Howell's Requiem on the album, the artists wanted to put a seal on the pairing between Renaissance music and 20th century polyphony, thus underlining the always inspiring and fascinating dialogue between ancient and modern.
"…strikingly performed, with the singers obviously relishing the interplay between the two SATB choirs." – Choir and Organ
