This release presents the complete original LP Djangology (RCA Victor 2319), which was compiled in 1961 (less than a decade after Django's untimely death in 1953 at the age of 43). Although the album cover claimed to feature the Quintet of the Hot Club of France, it actually presented music from a series of 1949 dates that reunited Reinhardt and Grappelli in Rome along with a local rhythm section. Twelve tracks from the same dates have been added here as a bonus. Includes a 16-page booklet.

This special edition on blue vinyl includes new cover artwork and specially prepared liner notes by Penguin Guide to Jazz's writer Brian Morton.
