After two decades of creating magical country-tinged moments, Southend-based purveyors of Cosmic Americana Music, The Ugly Guys are to release their first 'Best of' collection on CD. "Still Kickin'" is released on 18th April 2025 by Conquest Music. From the ashes of the Kursaal Flyers, Jerry The Ferret, Pinkees, Legend and the cream of Essex finest, The Ugly Guys took their name from a classic song from the Kursaals.
Their time together shows no signs of stopping and has resulted in albums full of brilliant songs, presented complete with Pedal Steel Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo and the distinctive vocals of Paul Shuttleworth and Steve Oliver. A selection of 15 fine cuts from their previous seven albums are supplemented by a country reworking of the classic Kursaal Flyers hit, Little Does She Know. In addition, a taster from their next studio album is added in the form of the Mickey Jupp penned I Should Be Loving This.
