Description
Twenty years a blues singer, Christopher Wyze has emerged as a powerful vocalist, lyricist and storyteller. In 2023, he was named a "One to Watch" songwriter by Nashville Songwriters Association International. Wyze's deep "head-turning" vocals and soulful blues harp front the action on Stuck In The Mud: 13 blues-drenched studio tracks.
Recording in Muscle Shoals, Ala. and Clarksdale, Miss., Ralph Carter produced. Carter, who co-wrote 8 tracks with Wyze, reached rock and roll prominence as tour musical director, performer and co-writer with Eddie Money. Featured artists include Eric Deaton (guitar - previous work: The Black Keys, Hank Williams Jr.) and singer-songwriter Cary Hudson, former frontman for beloved rock band, Blue Mountain (acoustic & electric slide guitars). Called "a national treasure" by Jason Isbell, Hudson co-wrote the title track with Wyze. Some stories deserve to be told. And in today's blues scene, a new band of storytellers - Christopher Wyze & the Tellers - has arrived to do just that.
A word of advice: listen.
