When The Stray Birds take the stage, the spotlight falls on three voices raised in harmony above the raw resonance of wood and strings. It is a sound drawn from the richness of American folk music traditions, spun with a stirring subtlety and grace. From bustling street corners to silent halls, their performances speak to an uncompromising reverence for songs.

Their full-length debut, The Stray Birds, was lauded by radio stations and listeners across the country and named to the Top 10 Folk/Americana Releases of 2012 by NPR. Passionate live performances led to appearances on NPR's Mountain Stage, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Kerrville Folk Festival, and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

On October 8th, 2013, The Stray Birds went on a blind date with a beautiful recording studio in Asheville, NC called Echo Mountain Studios, nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The resulting 5- song EP was recorded in one live session. Embracing the fullest available diversity of voices, lead vocals were spread across the entire trio as we paid tribute to some of our favorite songwriters. We found a distinct joy in inhabiting other songwriters' creations.

Echo Sessions is dedicated to the people who inspire us to sing our way through life. These songs came into our lives as echoes. Whether through another artist's recording or someone's rendition in a kitchen, they made the long journey from their writers' hearts to ours. May our voices be another echo in the lives of these beloved songs.
