A rich tapestry of folk and Americana styling drawn from a love of The Band, Fairport, Van Morrison and Springsteen the group offer a distinctive slant on the conventional roots repertoire coming across like a cockney Carter Family throwing you into a vibrant, earthy folkster world. Mad Staring Eyes' 2006 self-titled debut EP won the John Peel 'Best New Band' award and led to being chosen by Michael Eavis for the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival. They have since toured with Memphis Industries' Dutch Uncles and played international showcases including South By South West, North By North East, and CMJ Music Marathon and seen their music featured on MTV2 as well as hit TV shows Skins and Gossip Girl.
