  • Description

'They gave me a derelict caravan, food and the opportunity to wander; following a random path led by chance encounters.'

For the last fourteen years photographer Barry Lewis has been documenting the 'Naughty Corner' of the Glastonbury Festival, from Lost Vagueness to Shangri-La, where anything can happen, and often does.

This book follows Barry's encounters with the free spirits, outsiders, and the outrageous at play in a performance dreamworld of their own making.

Barry Lewis has been a photojournalist for over 40 years working on stories from all over the world. Founder of the agency Network, he has worked on over 20 books and was awarded the Leica Oscar Barnac medal for his humanitarian photography (1991).

"It's so hard to explain, but to photograph Glastonbury you have to make your own journey, to really be there and let go, but still see and record, to be constantly open to surprise and wonder. There are moments everything falls into place, all is possible, you connect with the crowd pulsating to the music, oblivious to the rain and mud. There are moments of pure beauty and the photographs become just a distant echo." - Barry Lewis
