Description
Never previously available, this performance from East Coast rockers Romeo Void makes its debut CD release. The first officially-authorised concert album from the San Francisco 1980s new wave/post-punk band captured during the months when the band was recording its debut album, It's a Condition, with The Cars’ leader Ric Ocasek.
The band’s inception story is an intriguing one – born out of a fascination with the developing local post-punk scene between Native American Deborah Iyall and friends at San Francisco Art Institute. Introducing poetry, dark lyricism and even saxophone to American punk, the band were earning enormous airplay for their single 'Never Say Never’, included on this collection, during this period.
This 11-song set features eight of the tracks from It’s a Condition as well as the later B-side, "Guards," and two previously unreleased songs, "Fine Line Number" and "Double Shot." This crucial document provides a snapshot of the band that would soon win notoriety with the MTV hits "Never Say Never" and "A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)."
